and now, a guessing game/request - Zeitgeist!

So, guess what I DON'T have!

a. fun
b. a glass of cold, tasty grapefruit juice
c. anything documenting Zeitgeist dating from before my hard drive crashed two months ago.

If you guessed C, you're the lucky winner of an opportunity to help me out by emailing me, if you want me to take it into account, some brief concept of where your story stands as of now. Otherwise, I'm just going to rewrite mine from the top, using the original Vargas-blend concept.

Jesus, it's been three years.

I'm old.

snatch and grab

So really I just logged in here to grab some stuff, and realized that I should work more on these things on which I want to work. So, that's going to happen. I've geisted on and off over the past months, but I've also been in and out of the doctor's, and classes, and working/not working, so I haven't done much creatively. And that bites. So it'll change.

with a vengeance

  • Mood: Screwed
  • Listening to: Devendra Banhart
  • Reading: Perdido Street Station. AMAZING book.
  • Watching: live blog updates from the Steve Irwin
I was on here for some reason or other, and realized that I never go on here any more, because I barely write any more, because I’m working a 9-6 job and then have school and theater and all this stuff. And that made me sad. So, no more, I say! While I can’t really work on Geisty at work, I CAN do this thing I wanted to do senior year with my Writers’ Workshop buddies. That fell through because I am a terrible teacher. STILL I PERSEVERE. And that brings us to...

The Challenge: Formats. All of ‘em. Alphabetically, or else I’d leave out stuff like Sapphic verse simply because it’s a bitch to write. The list I'm using is diluted from here and from a book of forms I have. Both are really awesome; that website is a fabulous tool if you're like me and all your books are currently in boxes.

The Point: I write really shitty poetry, and would like to remedy that, and perhaps find a niche. Even if I don’t, I’ll have subjected everyone I know to amusingly shitty poetry, and that’s always good for karma.

The Catch: I have to have something posted by the end of each day (12:00 am), beginning Spring semester (next Monday), until I get to the end of the list (and it’s a list of 83). More than one OK, less than one NO WAY heehee I rhyme. I’m going to cut myself some slack, and post the ones I really hate, or don’t finish right away (some of these are meant to be really long, and I want to do it right) in Scraps, but while I might repost revisions, there has to be a new form up every day. Why? Because otherwise I’ll never really do this.

ALSO, I am moving out in like, a week, and that could affect my internet access; I don’t know yet as I’m not there yet. If it does, I’ll post from school.

If anyone has a topic they want me to touch on, give a holler.

And I have more Zeitgeist, but it's all over the place, and in need of some serious sit-down time, which I just haven't had. If anyone has archived copies of early stuff I wrote that's not on here any more, that'd be appreciated too, since my logic board blew on my iBook and I didn't manage to save everything.

College Sucks, Pt. 1

  • Mood: Stuck
  • Listening to: LOLITA, read by Jeremy Irons. Scar. Eep.
  • Reading: Promise not to laugh? IT.
  • Eating: not enough
I have no time ever, and this is just during the semester. I wonder what it's going to be like when I start REAL SCHOOL in the fall, with all my eighteen units.

Needless to say, I've been feeling pretty creatively shot lately.

Crow, I hate you for sending me If You've A Ready Mind. I don't have the time for it, and I'm reading it anyway, and interfering with my rereading of Vargas, which was meant to fuel my next Geist-burst. I have to realign my stuff with hers, since all my thingies got deleted.

And you people, if you don't listen to People in Planes, we need to talk.

Did I owe someone a weirdly punctuated poem? Rue?
